While an American invention, drive-in theaters became very popular in Australia starting in the 1950's. The first drive-in theater opened in Australia in 1954 and at one point, there were over 300 drive-ins opened throughout Australia. Today, there are only 17 remaining drive-in theaters still in operation………and I plan on travelling to all of them.
